What Does the Buffalo Museum of Science Have To Do With Healthy Eating?
A rainbow of colors awaits you at the YUM! Exhibit at the Buffalo Science Museum. It’s not just the visible parts of the exhibit, but it’s more about the excitement you will feel and the education you will receive about making great food choices.
Adults and children both have the opportunity to learn how healthy habits can be life changing. There are hand-on and interactive activities to help you understand not only how we can eat healthy but also why we should eat healthy.
Here’s a sampling of some of the fantastic displays you will view when you visit.
Eggplant- delicous with fiber and little fat and contains nutrients such as manganese and potassium.
Oranges-low in calories and full of nutrients, these orange beauties contain fiber, potassium, vitamin C and many other health benefits.
Broccoli-this green beauty is a great source of vitamins K and C, a great source of folate, potassium, fiber, and vitamin C.
Strawberries-tasty and sweet, they provide antioxidants, fiber, polyphenols, many nutrients, and vitamins including the mighty vitamin C.
Peppers- powerhouse for vitamin C and other nutrients and great source of vitamin B6 and folate
Blueberries- EWB’s favorite food that contains antioxidants called carotenoids, flavonoids, and other nutritious vitamins and minerals
